Our class was given $750 to spend to make this event a success. The funtional budget is always changing and the estimated will almost never be the exact same as the actual amount spent.
We used the budget to keep track of how much we were spending on the event. This way, if we needed additional money for a category, like Marketing, we were able to make an informed decision. Our class also ended up adding a category, which was Prizes. We needed to make sure there was money in the budget to spend that. We decided that Food and Beverage could give money to other departments, so that is where it came from. Overall, the budget ended up coming up short by $240.40. |
